Film Trivia
- In one scene Harry can be seen reading Stephen King's Misery. The director of this film, Rob Reiner, would go on to direct Misery after making this film.
- According to screenwriter Nora Ephron the 'I'll have what she's having' line was suggested by Billy Crystal. Director Rob Reiner's mother is the woman who says the line.
- Sally's picky eating habits were included in the movie after director Rob Reiner saw screenwriter Nora Ephron ordering her food in the same way Sally does in the movie.
- For the infamous orgasm scene, the original script just called for Harry and Sally to talk about faking an orgasm. But Meg Ryan suggested that Sally should fake an orgasm at the table and director Rob Reiner loved the idea.
- The orgasm scene was filmed at a deli in New York. After the film was made a plaque was added to the table reading 'Congratulations! You're sitting where Harry met Sally!'.
