A patriotic German colonel (Tom Cruise) secretly hopes that someone will find a way to stop Hitler. He decides to take matters into his own hands and leads an operation to assassinate Hitler himself. Co stars Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Izzard and Bill Nighy.

Film Trivia

• The film was shot in Germany at various locations where many of the actual events occurred, including the site of a monument to Claus Von Stauffenberg. It was this monument that inspired screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie to write Valkyrie.
• Tom Cruise was attracted to this film and the role of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg after seeing a picture of the man and noticing how similar they looked.
• David Hamber, who stars in this movie as Adolf Hitler, is the only non-German cast member who speaks with a German accent.
• Stephen Fry was offered a role in this film but declined.
• A number of scenes in this film had to be re-shot when the original film was destroyed after being treated with the wrong chemical during development.
