• Kurt Wimmer wrote the script with Milla Jovovich in mind for the lead character.
• While on set director Kurt Wimmer asked Milla Jovovich to punch him. This was so he could get an idea of the intensity she was putting into her action scenes. For the next several days, Wimmer directed the film with a black eye.
• This film was shot in Hong Kong, for the blue screen and stage work, and in Shanghai for the location work.
• The invented language used in the film is called Thaihindi.
