• Brad Pitt was offered the role of Jason Bourne but turned it down.
• This film is based on the book of the same name by Robert Ludlum. Director Doug Liman, who had recently gained his pilot's license, secured the rights to the novel by making his first solo cross-country flight to visit the author.
