In this tale based on a true story, George (Ryan Reynolds) and Kathy (Melissa George) move into a new house with their three children. But the house was the site of a brutal mass murder and the family are terrorised by an evil presence that still remains.

Film Trivia

• This film is a remake of the 1970s film by the same name. Both films were based on a true story.
• Ryan Reynolds specifically chose not to become too close to the actors who were playing his children in the movie. He did this so that he would have no trouble in abusing them physically and verbally as his character started changing.
• Ryan Reynolds wore special contact lenses in a few of the scenes to make his eyes appear black with just a white ring around them.
• Rachel Nichols, who plays Lisa the babysitter, also starred as Rachel Gibson on the hit television show Alias.
