In this Australian drama 16 year old Heidi (Abbie Cornish) sleeps with her mother's boyfriend and is forced to run away from home. She finds work at an out-of-season ski resort where she discovers the difference between love and sex.

Film Trivia

• This film marks Cate Shortland's feature-length directorial debut. She had been planning to make this film for seven years.
• This film won in all 13 categories at 2004's AFI (Australian Film Institute) Awards. This marked the first time this had ever occurred in the awards' history.
• This film was originally set near Lake George but there was a drought in Australia at the time. Since water is the focal point for the film the setting was changed to Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains where the drought's effects were not so severe
