Film Trivia

• Three of the actors in this film have played villains in James Bond films. Sean Bean played Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye, Michael Lonsdale played Hugo Drax in Moonraker and Jonathan Pryce played Elliot Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies.
• When Sam (Robert De Niro) is chasing Gregor, the two men fall over the railing and land on the hard surface below. This was accidental as the stuntmen were supposed to stop at the railing. Director John Frankenheimer decided to keep it in the film.
• Porn star Ron Jeremy flew to Paris to make a cameo appearance in the film but his scene ended up being cut.
• One of the stunt drivers on this film was Formula One driver Jean-Pierre Jarier.
• The title, Ronin, refers to a Samurai who does not have a master.
