Mason Dixon, the reigning heavyweight titleholder challenges Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) to come out of retirement. With the odds firmly against him, Rocky prepares to take on Dixon in what will be the greatest fight in history. Co stars Burt Young.

Film Trivia

• The boxing scenes were shot during a real fight in Las Vegas between Bernard Hopkins and Jermaine Taylor. When Sylvester Stallone made an appearance the whole crowd got to their feet and began chanting 'Rocky'.
• The closing credits for this film show members of the public recreating the famous run up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Sylvester Stallone claims that the final shot of him standing at the top of the steps was filmed without him knowing.
• Sylvester Stallone trained for six months to get into shape for his role.
• Boxer Mike Tyson's cameo appearance in this film replicates the appearance made by Joe Frazier in the original Rocky.
• The fight scenes in this film were not choreographed and Sylvester Stallone has claimed that both he and Antonio Tarver were throwing real punches at each other.
