Film Trivia

• Sylvester Stallone co-wrote the script for this film with legendary director James Cameron.
• Dolph Lundgren auditioned for a role in this movie but when Sylvester Stallone realised that Lundgren was already going to star in Rocky IV he didn't get the part.
• At one point the producers considered teaming Sylvester Stallone and John Travolta up in this movie. But Stallone was determined to make the film a solo project.
• The large Buddha statue was given to the local Mexican military commander as a souvenir after the shoot. He accepted it graciously despite the fact that it was a prop made out of polystyrene and gold paint.
• In an early draft of the film, as Co Bao dies in the arms of Rambo, he screams 'No!' and as the camera zooms in on him the word echoes loudly. But when preview audiences burst out laughing at this point, the scene was changed to him sobbing quietly.
