Indie comedy about Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Herder), an oddball teenager with an eccentric family and a hungry llama. He tries to help his friend (Efren Ramirez) win the class presidency and defeat popular girl Summer (Haylie Duff).

Film Trivia

• Napoleon Dynamite was the pseudonym used by Elvis Costello for his 1986 album Blood and Chocolate. The producers were completely unaware of the similarity while making the film.
• Napoleon Dynamite's big dance scene was the last scene scheduled and the film in the camera ran out while shooting it. The sequence was edited together from less than 10 minutes of Jon Heder dancing.
• The llama used in this film belonged to director Jared Hess' mother and it was called Dolly.
• Jon Heder permed his hair for this film.
• Aaron Ruell had braces put on his teeth for his role.
