Mr. Magorium owns the strangest and most fantastic toy store in the world, with it being literally alive. When he decides to retire and leave the shop to his young manager (Natalie Portman) the shop has other ideas. A magical family fantasy.

Film Trivia

• Dustin Hoffman was responsible for creating Mr. Magorium's hairdo, bushy eyebrows and lisping vocals.
• Before he became a screenwriter and director, Zach Helm had previously worked part-time in a toy shop, where he came up with the basic outline for this story.
• Renowned perfectionist Dustin Hoffman has joked that in preparation for his role as a 243 year old he visited a lot of graveyards.
• To avoid using CGI, director Zach Helm used puppeteers and animatronics for all the special effects on the film. However any animations that didn't look good were altered in post production.
