The true story of the Norwegian crusader Max Manus (Aksel Hennie), who became a notorious World War II saboteur. Angered over the German occupation of his country, he formed a resistance group to take on the Nazis.

Film Trivia

• The scenes featuring German soldiers required over 1,800 extras to be used.
• In the movie Gregers Gram makes a comment that someone should build a statue of him and put it outside a fancy building. In reality, there is a statue of Gregers Gram outside of the Njars sports hall in Norway.
• The producers wanted to use His Majesty The Kings Guard as Nazi extras due to their marching and military drill skills. But the army refused as they didn't want members of the Kings Guard to dress up in Nazi uniform.
• The colour red is absent from most scenes in this movie. It is only used for blood, the Nazi flag and the Norwegian flag.
