Flash (Christopher Plummer) longs for the days when he worked as a crew member on such films as Citizen Kane. When he meets a teenage film fanatic (Michael Angarano), he helps the boy make a film to win a school scholarship.

• Legendary production manager/assistant director Abby Singer has a cameo in this movie. She plays one of the elderly residents at the retirement home. In filmmaking terms, the Abby Singer shot is the second to last shot of the day.
• Cameron's enemy Brett Raven is played by director Michael Schroeder's own son Taber.
• Director Michael Schroeder was inspired to make this movie after finding about low standards of care in US nursing homes.
