Film Trivia
- Screenwriter John Ajvide Lindqvist also wrote the novel on which this film is based. Lindqvist received over 20 requests from Sweden, Germany and the US for the rights to turn his story into a film.
- For the gory scenes in this film several methods were used to create the sound effects. Biting into sausages was used to replicate the sound of biting into someone's skin, and drinking yoghurt was used to sound like drinking blood.
- Though the film takes place in a suburb of Stockholm, the film was shot in the North of Sweden to ensure there was enough snow and cold weather, crucial to the storyline.
- 4,000 children auditioned for the two lead roles. Both boys and girls were invited to audition for the part of Eli.
- The title of this film was inspired by the Morrissey song, Let The Right One Slip In.
