Daniel Craig stars as a drug dealer who sees himself more as a businessman. He is about to retire when he his boss forces him to take on one last job, which will see him dragged through all levels of London's criminal underworld. Co stars Sienna Miller.

• Guy Ritchie was at one point attached to direct but he dropped out due to other commitments.
• The first draft of this screenplay was 408 pages long. The book on which this is based was only 344 pages and was written by J.J. Connolly who also wrote the screenplay.
• Louis Emerick, who plays Trevor, was first set to play Monty, XXXX's assistant, but the director felt his northern accent was too strong for such a large speaking role.
• The country club that XXXX visits at the beginning of this film is the same location used for the golf club where James Bond plays in Goldfinger. Daniel Craig would later go on to star as James Bond himself.
• In one scene XXXX and his fellow drug dealers are seen sitting around a table eating a layer cake, in reference to the film's title and theme.
