Dustin Hoffman arrives in London to discover that his daughter wants her stepfather (James Brolin) to walk her down the aisle. Drowning his sorrows at a bar, he meets a lonely woman (Emma Thompson). Their one day together ends up changing their lives.

• Director/ screenwriter Joel Hopkins decided to cast Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman in this movie after seeing them star in Stranger Than Fiction.
• While filming, Dustin Hoffman shouted at an actor 'come on man, give as good as I'm giving you'. The director thought an argument would start but discovered that Hoffman had agreed with the other actor that venting anger would help focus on the scene
• Dustin Hoffman was eager to work on a romantic drama with Emma Thompson because he enjoyed her performance in Love, Actually so much.
