Film Trivia

• Michael Bay was originally set to direct this film but left the project due to budget concerns.
• It took Ioan Gruffudd months to grow the beard his character sports during the film. In addition, due to his Celtic heritage, the beard kept growing in red and had to be painted brown every day to match his hair.
• The wall in this movie took four and a half months to build.
• Because of the intense action sequences taking place all around him, the camera operator had to wear a crash helmet and was protected by men with riot shields.
• Over 400 extras were used as Saxon warriors, most of them had no fight training whatsoever.
