Film Trivia
- John Leguizamo tried 30 different voices for Sid. After watching a documentary about Sloths he discovered that they store food in their mouths. Leguizamo tried to speak as if he had food in his mouth and discovered it was the perfect voice for Sid.
- All of the actors were encouraged to improvise as much as possible in order to keep the animation spontaneous.
- Scrat the sqirrel's opening adventure was inserted into the film because without it it would be 37 minutes before any snow or ice appeared in the film.
- Scrat was originally only featured in the film's title sequence. But he was such a hit with test audiences that the animators added extra scenes so that he would feature throughout the film.
- None of the human characters in this film speak.
