On his birthday Goku (Justin Chatwin) is given a magic ball by his grandfather. There are only six like it in the whole world. But when his grandfather is killed by an evil lord, Goku races against time to find the other Dragonballs. With Chow Yun-Fat.
Film Trivia
- All of the cast members were going to wear different coloured wigs but director James Wong decided that it would make the film unrealistic. Instead, Emmy Rossum has a blue streak dyed into her hair and Justin Chatwin has his spiked.
- It took four hours to apply make-up and prosthetics to James Marsters to transform him into Piccolo. It originally took much longer but Marsters had difficulty breathing so some prosthetics were removed.
- The role of Piccolo was originally offered to Ron Perlman but he dropped out to star in Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
- Emmy Rossum and Joon Park's characters develop a relationship in the film. Because of this they decided to bond before making the film and they traded music CDs to get a good idea of each other's tastes.
- Luis Arrieta, who plays Weaver, filmed all of his scenes in one day.
