Film Trivia
- Throughout the film Johnny and Baby wear contrasting colours. Baby is often in very light colours while Johnny is in black or something very dark.
- In the scene where Baby keeps laughing as Johnny runs his hand down her arm, Patrick Swayze's frustration was real because her laughter was not in the script.
- The scene where Baby and Johnny are practising dancing and crawl on the floor towards each other was not intended to be part of the film. Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey were warming up for a scene but the director liked it so he kept it in the film
- Billy Zane and Sarah Jessica Parker auditioned for the lead roles.
- Jennifer Grey was 27 at the time this movie was made. The character she plays is only 17, so in the audition Grey was given five minutes to prove she could act younger as well as dance properly.
