Set in Edwardian England, Fisk Senior (Peter O'Toole) has little time or affection for his son (Jeremy Northam). But when the pair visit an eccentric Indian they go on a strange journey that allows the old man to find his heart. Co stars Sam Neill.

• This film is a New Zealand/British co-production featuring a cast and crew drawn from both countries.
• This film is based on the writings of the eccentric and obscure Anglo-Irish writer, Lord Dunsany.
• Peter O'Toole was very specific with director Toa Fraser, telling him would only work a certain amount of hours a day. Despite feeling intimidated by him at first Fraser has said that working with him was a complete pleasure.
• Sam Neill was convinced to star in this film by his friend Bryan Browne. Browne jokingly said if he did not appear in it he would inflict violence on either Neill or his dog.
