A group of Jamaicans decide to form a bobsleigh team and enter the Winter Olympics. With John Candy as their coach, they suffer setbacks and near disasters as they fight to compete for an Olympic medal. Co stars Doug E. Doug.

Film Trivia

• This film is based on the true story of the 1988 Jamaican bobsleigh team, who entered into the Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada.
• Contrary to what happens in the movie, the real Jamaican bobsled team were met with open arms by the other international teams. One of the other teams even went so far as to lend the Jamaican team their back-up sled so that they were able to qualify.
• This film marks the acting debut for Malik Yoba, who plays Yul Brenner.
• This is one of the last films John Candy made before his death in 1994.
