Film Trivia
- The car that Cheech drives at the beginning of this film was owned by Jack Nicholson.
- The dog that eats the burrito after it is thrown on the floor was a stray dog that wandered on to the set and walked off with the food. Both Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong ad-libbed their dialogue around this.
- Director Lou Adler screened this film privately for Jack Nicholson. Nicholson, who had a dislocated shoulder at the time, describes watching the film as a painful experience because his arm hurt from laughing so much.
- The extras playing the Hare Krishna's were paid $25 each to shave their heads.
