Goofy comedy. Two directionless musicans, a guitarist (Cheech Marin) and a drummer (Tommy Chong), meet up and embark on a series of weird adventures, including getting embroiled in a smuggling plot.

FILM TRIVIA:

>This was the first Cheech and Chong film which resulted from their stand-up comedy in the 70s and 80s. Together they made 10 films together over the span of 8 years.

>The act was based upon the lost 60s culture with aspects of free love, hippie and drug movements.

>Director Lou Adler had been heavily influenced by Robert Altman’s technique of framing and filming a shot. Upon completion of the film, he showed it to his close friend Jack Nicholson who couldn’t stop laughing.

>The film was banned by South African authorities as they felt that ‘it would encourage marijuana use by the impressionable youth of South Africa!’
