Film Trivia

• There are multiple references to Tupac Shakur throughout the film. This is because in 1996 he was supposed to play the role of Joseph, but he was brutally shot dead before filming could take place.
• Ice Cube and Cuba Gooding Jr. were also set to have roles in the film but both men became unavailable with Snoop Dogg taking over Ice Cube's role.
• Director/writer John Singleton's daughter plays Jody's daughter in this film.
• Taraji P. Henson, who stars in this movie as Yvette, was nominated for best actress in a supporting role at the 2009 Academy Awards, for her role as Queenie in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
