- Directors Adam Ravetch and Sarah Robertson are a husband and wife team. They spent years in the field in an attempt to capture never-seen-before moments in the Arctic.
- One night while sleeping in their tent the filmmakers were woken by a polar bear just inches away as it began to poke the tent with its nose. Unfortunately as it was night there is no footage of this close encounter.
- During the closing credits, several children talk about how global warming has had a detrimental effect on the animals such as the ones in Arctic Tale.
- This was filmed over fifteen years by the husband and wife team, who in total shot over 800 hours worth of footage.
- As well as being an actress famed for comedic roles, Queen Latifah is also a hip-hop artist.
