Adam Sandler plays a mild-mannered business executive. After being mistakenly found guilty of an air rage incident, he is forced to undergo anger management with a deranged psychiatrist (Jack Nicholson). Co stars Marisa Tomei and Luis Guzman.

• Buddy (Nicholson) picks up a golf club before deciding to go with a baseball bat when he smashes the window of a car. This may be a sly reference to an incident involving Nicholson who was taken to court for smashing a man’s car up with a golf club
• This film features a number of notable cameos by actors including Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly, Ray Liotta, Heather Graham and Harry Dean Stanton.
• Adam Sandler distributed copies of this movie to US military bases in Iraq as soon as it was released. The donated version of the film included a five minute introduction by Sandler, in which he thanked the troops for what they were doing.
• Adam Sandler had a beloved dog called Meatball. The cat that models the cat clothing in this movie is named Meatball in his dog's honour.
