Alfie (Jude Law) is a cockney limo driver living in New York. A serial womaniser he is surrounded by beautiful people who he has one-night stands with. But he must face the consequences of his actions when he sleeps with his friend's ex-girlfriend.

• Jude Law injured his hand while filming the scene where he punches a windscreen. The director told him to pretend he was punching a member of the paparazzi.
• Alfie's vespa is painted blue and white. This is a reference to Jude Law's favourite football team, Tottenham Hotspur.
• The suit that Jude Law's character wears was inspired by the slim fitting suits that The Beatles wore in A Hard Day's Night.
• Billie Piper auditioned for the role of Nikki but didn't get it. Sienna Miller was cast instead.
