Film Trivia
- This film is loosely based on the true story of a womanising New York architect, an unstable millionaire and a chorus girl in France. Their love triangle led to what the newspapers dubbed at the time 'The Trial Of The Century'.
- Four Chabrols worked on this film. Claude Chabrol directed the film, his wife Aurore Chabrol was the screenplay-supervisor, his son Matthieu Chabrol was the composer and his son Thomas Chabrol stars in the movie.
- Ludivine Sagnier claims that she was fascinated by the script when she first read it because she wasn't sure if her character, Gabrielle, was vicious or naive.
