• Despite being a family film and rated PG in the United States, in the UK, the film was classified as a 15. This was because of a ‘double ear clap’ which was considered to be a ‘dangerous imitable combat technique’.
• Frankie Muniz (Malcolm in the Middle) made this film when he was 17 years old. His co-star (and love interest) Hilary Duff was just 15 at the time.
• The film was the first lead role for TV star Hilary Duff since her breakthrough role as Disney Channel favourite ‘Lizzie McGuire’.
