• The original title for the film was ‘Sexual Perversity in Chicago’ (Also the name of the play upon which it is based). However after the press refused to run ads for it with that name, the producers were forced to change its name.
• This is Elizabeth Perkins acting debut.
• John Belushi was originally set to play the part of Bernie, but his brother James Belushi had already played the role on stage. James Belushi told his brother he didn't want him to take the role as he didn't want to be compared to him.
• Directed by Edward Zwick who is known today for considerably more action based movies.
