Mike (Matthew Perry) is divorced, has been passed over for a promotion at work and lives with his nerdy best friend. But he is given a second chance to make something of himself when he is transformed back to the age of 17 (Zac Efron).

• Towards the end of filming Zac Efron suffered from appendicitis. At first he thought it was a stomach ache but later that night he needed surgery.
• Zac Efron asked Matthew Perry for his advice on how to deliver lines and even mimicked some of Perry's movements to give a more authentic performance.
• Although she plays his daughter in the film, Michelle Trachtenberg is two years older than Zac Efron.
• Zac Efron claims he was attracted to this film because he has always felt like an old man in a young man's body.
