Live-action remake of the Disney animated favourite. Dalmatians Pongo and Perdy fall in love and have a litter of puppies. But designer Cruella De Vil (Glenn Close) is after their fur in this classic adventure with Joely Richardson and Hugh Laurie.

• Hugh Grant was apparently offered the Jeff Daniels role of Roger.
• Glenn Close stars as the larger than life Cruella DeVil, a role she also reprises in the 2000 sequel '102 Dalmatians'.
• Look out for Hugh Laurie (House) as the bumbling Jasper and Mark Williams (The Fast Show) as Horrace. The two unlucky men charged with stealing the puppies for Cruella.
• A number of real dalmatian puppies were combined with computer generated animation and animatronic creatures from Jim Henson's workshop.
